So you want to create a blogging site?
There is the easy way, the hard way, and the right way to get your blog site off the ground. Some people either make their first attempts at blogging using such services as blogger.com or wordpress.com but I am going to show you why that might not be a good idea. Others will do the right things by setting up hosting and installing a wordpress blog on their own servers but they don’t know SEO and end up making costly mistakes that they could have avoided.
First lets talk a little about blogging services and why they are not the best option for your blogging site.
I think the biggest problem is that you don’t own the site so when you submit your letting those sites benefit from your content. That is wasted time and resources from my perspective. Why let another site benefit in page rank and traffic because of the work you did.
It is no secret that when a visitor comes to a site they like to take a look around and find other cool things to look at. That means their on your blog for only a little bit of time and then their off to other blogs on that services site as opposed to checking out your offer. That sucks.
Create blogs on your own hosting and you sure to keep more of your viewers interests and convert those viewers to sales.
Another huge problem I have with blogging services is you can’t control their terms of service. I have seen too many times where a blogger is using one of these blogging services like blogger.com or wordpress.com and one day…ALL of their content is gone!
This happens when the administrators of those sites look at your blog and determine your blogging site is not good enough or you’re just out to make money. They pull your blog off of their network and you cannot get your content back.
That is why building your blogs using your own hosting account is really the best option and the only way to go.
When people first set out to creating their blogging site, their Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the one thing that people screw up all the time and it is one the hardest things to recover from.
Setting up a blog should take a little planning before you make your first post. What keywords are you going to target? What is your category structure going to be? Are you going to setup follow or nofollow links?
These and many other questions are not on peoples minds and it is the biggest killer to the success of your blogging site.
I have the answer to your blogging questions. Take a look at how I setup a blogging site and how I can help you do the same.
